George YangFounder & Chief Designer
An athlete, an engineer and the founder of YANRE. Since 1997, he has built machines for those who value engineering over marketing.
The Beginning
In 1991, George Yang was not a founder — he was a technician, repairing gym machines for China's National Athletes Team. Repairing revealed the truth; he trained on the machines himself to feel exactly where they failed.
The Problem
Even the world's “best” brands carried flaws — weak welds, poor angles, and designs that ignored the human body. The limitations he saw shaped an entirely different way of thinking about equipment.
The Foundation
In 1997 he stopped fixing other people's mistakes and set his own standard — founding Yangrui Fitness in Beijing, named after his son. The name evolved from Yangrui to Yanre to YR; the standard never changed.
The Engineer
He refuses to compromise on materials: Q235 qualified steel at a 3 mm minimum, 30CrMnSiA barbells, low-friction POM cams and pulleys, and Japan-imported cables rated to 1400kg. “I train on these machines myself.”
The Designer
His philosophy is clean and minimalist — design is not how it looks, but how it works. YANRE engineers rather than copies; the 73 Series was the first in the world to use independent, converging and diverging movement paths.
The Vision
